Grow with Belize

Very often we hear the statement "Children are the future" and because of hearing it so much we don't realize the power the statement holds. Grow with Belize is an NGO which is spear headed by a group of friends ranging between the ages of 18-26. The name Grow with Belize was chosen as a group, because our nation is young and the target audience in which we seek out are between the ages of 8-14. The name says it all, our future generation, along with my team and I will be growing with our country. Our country Belize is young, and we believe that we could make a positive impact towards the future we want to see. In creating an NGO business, we are making the change, as it starts with us. Through the NGO we will be a voice for children, we will advocate for them and bring across conflicting points that they face. Grow with Belize has established a team who has dedicated their time to making a change; we believe that it’s time to give children back their voice.

Describe la necesidad o problema que deseas abordar: The problem which Grow with Belize wishes to alleviate is the lack of supervision among children, to break the social stigma that is south side youths or impoverished children can’t better themselves that they lead a life of crime, to assist financially or through donations such as pens, school bags, books (school supplies) and to encourage, motivate and spread awareness and advocate to the upcoming generation that the future is theirs, they're the authors of their story and that they can cut, edit delete however they chose to, to ensure at the end of the day they have the life they want and they work towards it and not settle, because of circumstances.
¿Cuál es el principal producto o servicio que ofrecerás?: The main service offered would be 1. To host meetings once a month, children would be given a snack (fruits, popcorn, mini sandwiches etc.) Meetings would include planning of park clean ups, neighborhood clean ups, social activities, movie nights, triathlons, sports days, planting of trees, painting of a wall, talent show.2. To assist with schooling monetary, school supplies, uniforms, tutoring 3. To serve as an open free, safe environment to talk with the children and hear any concerns they have. Concerns could range from minor to major prevailing issues which we would like to seek higher authority to assist us in.4. Feeding program within primary schools(wooden structure in school, which would employ single parents source of nutritional food to growing students) long term goal
Describe brevemente la comunidad o población que se beneficiará de tu solución y de cómo planeas involucrarlos en el proyecto: We believe that decisions which are made today, should involve the one it’s impacting tomorrow. In recent years children have become susceptible to many dangers, which causes them to fall off the bandwagon. Our organization plans to serve as a deterrent for children. Prevention is better than cure is what we believe. Gaining children’s attention at the age of 8 and growing with them to the age of 14 shapes their cognitive development. It creates positive social norms which becomes a part of their lives. Gaining the attention of the children from these ages is essential, during this time they are at risk to many different factors which can impact their lives negatively. If we create positive social norms and a positive environment for them then a cyclical ripple effect will occur. Humans are in a constant mode of adaptation and if fostered in a positive environment they will adapt along with others who witness the change.

Por favor describe: Grow with Belize has spoken to several entities which have agreed to be sponsors when it comes to the printing of shirts, school donations, building to house meetings at a discounted price. To generate revenue, we have planned several fundraisers such as cookouts, talent shows, a walk for kids and several other plans. We have sat as a team and discussed a financial; budget; however, we have revised several times in an effort to cut some cost.
