AguaPallet
The AguaPallet – Water Pallet
Having good drinking water is a top priority for people after a disaster and providing it is a top priority for aid agencies. The AguaPallet is a hollow, rotationally moulded export pallet that can also be used as a water container. This allows delivery of drinking water, without a shipping volume penalty, using existing distribution systems.
The AguaPallet is not intended as a complete replacement for either wooden pallets or bottled water. Rather, the AguaPallet is intended as an extra water supply option to give Unicef more flexibility in their planned response, allowing displaced men, women and children access to clean water and opportunities to improve their situation.
The AguaPallet has the same footprint as a standard Euro Pallet and has a water capacity of about 68 litres. They are designed to nest together for compact storage. It has multiple carry handles and tie down slots built in to make handling and securing loads easier. When empty

- In May 2014 this year Shaun and Moira Craill were delighted to hear that we are joint winners of Socialab and UNICEF’s First 72 Hour Challenge. Our project, the AguaPallet, has the potential to help a lot of people after a disaster and we are keen to develop it to the stage that others can manufacture and then distribute it around the world for people to use. In July 2014 Moira boarded a plane bound for Chile where Socialab and UNICEF were hosting the competition. This report is a summary of her experiences whilst in Chile.
